Based in Brisbane, this is a predominantly field-based role, with approximately 80% of your time spent visiting construction sites across South East Queensland.
You’ll be responsible for supporting the safety and wellbeing of JV Recruitment’s labour hire workforce, working closely with our contractors, clients, Site Managers and internal recruitment team. This is a great opportunity for an emerging WHS professional who wants broad exposure, genuine responsibility and the opportunity to grow alongside JV Recruitment’s continued expansion across Queensland. You don’t need to be a senior WHS professional. We’re open to someone earlier in their safety career who has the right foundations, attitude and desire to develop.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Conduct regular site assessments, safety inspections and monitoring visits
- Review SWMS, site inductions and other WHS documentation with clients and site representatives
- Deliver onsite and office-based toolbox talks
- Engage directly with JV labour hire workers around safety, PPE and site compliance
- Liaise with Site Managers, Supervisors and client WHS representatives
- Manage and support workplace injury, incident and near-miss investigations
- Complete incident reports, corrective actions and follow-up documentation
- Conduct regular safety check-ins with JV labour hire workers
- Identify, escalate and help resolve serious WHS concerns
- Maintain accurate WHS records, site documentation and photographic evidence
- Support internal teams with practical WHS advice and training
- Assess new client sites and support the continued expansion of JV Recruitment across Queensland
We’re looking for someone practical, confident and comfortable spending the majority of their week out on construction sites. You’ll need:
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
- Construction White Card
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Construction industry WHS experience
- Experience supporting or conducting incident investigations
- Current First Aid certification
- Strong communication skills and confidence having difficult conversations when required
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the wider JV team
- $80,000 + super
