Our client is a highly regarded electrical contracting business based in Thomastown, servicing major industrial manufacturing sites across Melbourne’s northern and eastern suburbs. They specialise in electrical maintenance, breakdown response, diagnostics, automation support, and engineering solutions for large-scale industrial plants. Their expertise includes control systems, power, automation, hazardous areas, and full electrical/engineering advisory services.
About the Opportunity
This day-shift role involves supporting maintenance teams, attending machinery breakdowns, completing preventative maintenance, and providing high-level automation support (electrical/electronic/mechanical) across 24/7 manufacturing operations. You’ll join a supportive team environment and contribute to diagnosing, repairing, and optimising industrial & automation equipment. Long-term team players who can support a rostered call-out schedule are encouraged to apply.
Due to strong growth heading into 2026, the team is ideally seeking an experienced Automation Electrician with at least 3 years’ Hazardous Area (EEHA) experience.
About You
- Valid A-Grade Electrical Licence
- Experience in Hazardous Area (installation, maintenance, inspections) highly regarded
- Certification or strong background in Industrial Automation
- Experience within the industrial manufacturing sector
- Proven experience as a maintenance electrician in a manufacturing environment
- Exposure to PLCs, VSDs, remote I/O and automation system diagnostics
- Strong fault-finding skills and ability to work autonomously or in a team
- Reliable, safety-focused, and proactive approach to work
