Defects Manager – Commercial Construction 

Location: Roaming Role - Metro Melbourne 
Full-Time | $140 - $150K | Commercial Projects


The Opportunity

Our client is one of Melbourne's leading commercial builders. With over 30 years of delivering a diverse range of commercial projects in the Institutional, Aged Care, Retail and Apartment sectors they are a go to for developers who are looking to deliver quality builds across Melbourne's Metro region. 

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Defects Manager to join their team. In this role you will be responsible for managing multiple projects at DLP phase and managing all aspects of the defects and warranty process. 

What You’ll Do

  • Manage defects on multiple projects ensuring that they are continously rectified month to month. 
  • Conduct thorough inspections and generate detailed defect reports.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure timely rectification.
  • Oversee trades and monitor quality standards during the defects period.
  • Maintain documentation, track progress, and uphold safety and compliance standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure satisfaction post-handover.
What You Bring
  • Ideally, you will have proven experience in the same or similar role in the commercial sector. 
  • A background in either apartment of aged care builds is highly desirable. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated experience of building successful relationships with both clients and subcontractors. 
  • Experience with Aconex is highly desirable. 
  • Trade background or relevant construction qualifications highly regarded.
  • Driver’s licence and right to work in Australia.
