About Them:

Our client is a well-established and respected commercial construction company with a strong pipeline of projects across the education, health, aged care, and government sectors. With a 15 years of delivering high quality builds up to the value of $30M, they have built a strong name in their sectors. Due to continued growth, they are now on the look out for a Senior Estimator to join the team. 

About the Role:

As a Senior Estimator, you’ll take the lead on preparing detailed and competitive tenders for commercial construction projects across a diverse portfolio, typically ranging from $10M–$30M in value. You will work closely with the Pre-Construction Manager, Directors, and wider team to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality submissions that align with our company’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end estimating for D&C and lump sum tenders in the commercial sector
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and scope to prepare accurate BOQs and cost plans
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
  • Conduct risk and value engineering assessments to enhance project viability
  • Participate in tender interviews, presentations, and negotiations where required
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, architects, consultants, and clients
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market conditions and industry trends
About You: 
  • Minimum 5–7 years of estimating experience in commercial construction
  • Proven track record in tendering projects in sectors such as education, aged care, health, and government
  • Experience with projects up to $30M
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g. CostX, Buildsoft, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Tertiary qualifications in construction management, quantity surveying, or similar
