Join a renowned commercial builder as a Senior Safety Advisor managing the safety of $3 - $40M projects.

Our client, a renowned commercial and industrial builder is currently seeking a Senior Safety Advisor to join their team. With over 30 years in the industry, they are leaders in their field and are set up with a strong pipeline of projects leading them through in to 2026. 

Due to their continued growth, they are looking for a proactive and experienced Senior Safety Advisor to join their team to support their projects across multiple sites. This role is ideal for a hands-on safety professional with a strong background in a dynamic construction environment. You will play a key role in promoting a safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, helping to deliver high-quality projects while safeguarding the workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve OHS policies, procedures, and management systems across all active project sites
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Monitor compliance with statutory and company safety requirements
  • Provide safety advice and support to project managers, supervisors, and on-site personnel
  • Coordinate and deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training sessions
  • Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation and administrative records
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure site practices meet current legislation
  • Travel to multiple project locations as required (regional and/or interstate travel may be necessary)
About You
  • Proven experience as a Safety Advisor (or similar role) in the commercial or industrial construction industry
  • In-depth knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation, codes of practice, and standards
  • Strong track record in developing, implementing, and maintaining effective OHS policies and procedures
  • Skilled in site-based risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead by example
  • Highly organized with strong safety administration and reporting capabilities
  • Flexibility to travel to various project sites as required
  • Relevant qualifications in OHS (minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety; Diploma preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license
